Hagane no Renkin Jutsushi (Fullmetal Alchemist) Ep 26 - Kanojo no Riyuu (Her Reason)

In Central, Ross passes Mustang a stack of bills chalked up by Ed during his hospitalisation so that he can settle them. When asked about the Elric brothers' whereabouts, Ross refuses to reveal anything while Hawkeye notices a marking on the map. However, before Mustang can take a good look at the map, Ed and Al's teacher, Izumi Curtis barges into the ward with her husband Sigu and snatches the map from them without explaining their identities.

Meanwhile, Ed, Al and Winry have reached Rushvalley where Winry is getting excited at seeing automail-related merchandise. In a shop located at the corner of the street, a young girl, Paninya is angry to see her foster father, Dominic being looked-down on by the customers even though he is very skilful. In order to prove that the metal limbs made by Dominic are of a high quality, Paninya takes part in a arm-wrest contest but fails to win as the stallholder is using alchemy to cheat. Ed takes part in the contest after being mocked as a shortie and Winry encourages him to teach those guys a lesson. Ed manages to win the contest and get the prize money easily.

The trio are ambushed by the stallholders to return the prize money where Winry comes to know of the fact that Ed used alchemy to win the contest instead of relying on his metal arm made by Winry. As such, she gets angry at Ed for not believing in her skills and runs off after beating them up but Ed has no idea why she has flared up at him.

Mustang summons Armstrong to get a list of the suspects who killed Hughes but the latter refuses to say anything. Mustang tells Hawkeye that someone of a higher rank than him must be exerting pressure on Ross, Armstrong and the others who know about what's going on so far thus resulting in this situation. Besides, the departure of the Elric brothers without informing Mustang in advance suggests that the millitary has some links to the series of Kenja no Ishi-related events.

Ed and Al fails to find Winry who ran away in anger. She happens to bump into Paninya on the streets and finds out about her reason for taking part in the contest. When Paninya brings Winry home to repair her damaged metal limb, Dominic happens to see this and is amazed to know that Winry is Pinako's granddaughter. In addition, Winry also suggests a way for Paninya to prove Dominic's skills by defeating Ed...

The next morning, Winry brings Paninya to see Ed and Al. Paninya suddenly snatches Ed's silver pocket watch and Winry tells Ed to get it back from her before Paninya goes to the pawnshop. Actually, Winry's intention in doing so is to get Ed to rely on his metal limbs and believe in her product. In the end, Ed manages to get the pocket watch back from Paninya.

Sheska goes to Mustang for help in the investigation of Hughes' murder and hopes that he can continue with it as the authorities have decided to close the case. However, in order to fulfil Hughes' wishes to see him become President and change the country, Mustang has no choice but to pretend that he's scared of his superiors so as to stay out of trouble. Sheska is disappointed to see Mustang's attitude towards this and runs off. Hughes then asks Hawkeye whether she will stay with him on this quest for power and she replies in the affirmative...

Al sends Paninya back to her home and happens to meet Sigu which scares him...

In the meantime, Winry is conducting maintenance of Ed's metal limbs and asks if he can give up his goal so as to keep out of trouble. She even promises to make Ed's life easier by ensuring that she will conduct maintenance of his limbs forever. However, Ed says that even if he is content with his current situation, he cannot let Al remain in this state and wants to regain their bodies. Just then, Al comes back with Izumi and Sigu right behind him and this gives Ed a big shock...

Mustang is going to be misunderstood by many people because he has to achieve his goal or else Hughes' death would be in vain. And this might mean a standoff between him and Ed one day if the latter is unaware of Mustang's intentions... Now that Ed and Al's teacher have come to look for them, they are going to be "punished" for doing a lot of things behind her back.

By the way, the OP and ED has changed and frankly speaking, I like neither. I guess I have to skip the songs for the next 12 episodes or so...
