Tenma is waiting at the Jahreszeit Hotel in Frankfurt to see Petr Capek whom Martin had mentioned as his employer trying to manipulate the devil and sees him leaving in a car with the Baby. When Tenma tries to follow them in a taxi, he is shocked to see the police waiting in ambush and runs away to escape from them. However, in his haste, he fails to see an approaching car and is knocked down on the road...
Tenma regains consciousness and finds himself in a room with his wounds bandaged. A dentist by the name of Milan Kolasch explains that he saw the accident where the driver ran away and had brought him back for treatment. Luckily, Tenma had only sprained his leg and did not sustain serious injuries. Milan also says that he knows about Tenma being a runaway convict and tells him to stay in the house since he can't move around with his injury. Milan tells Tenma that they are in the Turkish region of Frankfurt but a lot of the Turkish people had moved away since major redevelopment works are going on. However, Tenma hides the fact that he had been in the area before when the Baby wanted to kill the Turkish in a huge fire some years ago.
Milan invites Tenma to have lunch with the other occupants of this house and the latter is very happy to share a warm meal with other people since he has been alone in his pursuit of Johan for a long time.
Tenma notices that there are photos of Petr Capek, an investigation report on him and a gun in the drawer when Milan tells him that the police who appeared at the hotel had meant to catch him instead of Tenma. He voices his intention to kill Capek which surprises Tenma.
The next day, Tenma is making paper aeroplanes for the kids but they do not fly very well which make the kids quite disappointed. He recollects his conversation with Milan who said that Capek is a devil who came to Germany in 1989 from Czechoslovakia the night before the Communist Party collapsed. He stayed in Frankfurt and taught German to kids but something happened to his students after a period of time. Some of them committed suicide and the rest started to develop violent characters. Finally, this led to a riot among the kids where they tried to kill one another. Milan had gone to a detention institute to visit the leader responsible for this incident where the boy had expressed his wish to return to the book readings. Subsequently, the boy committed suicide in his cell on that very night and he turned out to be Milan's son. To escape from any responsibility for this matter, Capek fled Frankfurt and became a changed man when he returned. It seems like he has links with the gangsters and rightists who helped him to chase the Turkish and other foreigners out of this area. Even though Milan has no idea what Capek is hoping to achieve, he believes that the burning of the Turkish district in 1996 was his doing and the local community had formed a vigilance group to prevent this from happening in future. However, the 5 leaders of the group were murdered within 3 months by Capek's men for their resistance efforts thus Milan had brought the relatives of these leaders back to his house where they live as a family now. Milan tells Tenma to back off from killing Capek as he would like to do it himself.
Tenma does not give up making an paper aeroplane for the kids and teach them never to give up despite the harsh situation which seems to be reflective of his own circumstances.
Tenma tries to stop Milan from killing Capek so that he can continue taking care of his new family. However, Milan reveals further shocking facts where he is actually the childhood friend of Capek and he was the one who helped Capek escape to Germany back then. If he had not done so, innocent people would not have died at Capek's hands. In addition, Milan says that Capek didn't behave like a devil in the past and Capek told Milan in 1969 when they were in Prague that he had met a very impressive man which brought about the change in his attitude and beliefs. Tenma is unable to stop Milan and can only look on helplessly as Milan goes after Capek.
The next morning, Tenma is making oyakodon for Milan's family members and sees the news about Milan being shot to death by the security guards at the exhibition Capek was at before he could harm Capek. He turns off the TV so as to hide the truth from the family members while feeling sad about Milan's fate...
Meanwhile, Nina happens to view the news and notices from the security footage on TV that Capek was the man who drove the car which brought her to the Mansion of Red Roses...
Capek must have been influenced by Franz Bonaparta going by what he told Milan. I guess Bonaparta managed to brain-wash Capek so that he became very loyal to him while in search of a wonderful and great goal. Since he also tried to do what Bonaparta was doing in Czechslovakia, it could be at Bonaparta's orders or he simply tried to imitate and see if he could reproduce similar results. It didn't seem to work out very well since the kids taught by Capek got into big trouble but the participants in Bonaparta's book readings didn't seem to be suicidal or created any trouble. The only obvious trait among the Bonaparta kids could be the lack of emotions on their faces and their nonchalance to lots of things in their lives especially when Suk and Vardeman were questioning them in an earlier episode. And since Nina remembered Capek's involvement in the Mansion of Red Roses, he must be a key person to solve the mystery on what exactly Bonaparta was trying to do and the backgrounds of Johan, Nina and their mother.
It's high time to get Runge back into the picture since there's no mention of him after he found Bonaparta's son in Czechslovakia. That is another major clue to find out what's going on. Besides that, it's also time for Johan to make a long-awaited appearance. He's the biggest mystery in the anime and everyone talks about him all the time but he doesn't appear most of the time. I guess it's time for him to meet up with Nina soon as I think the confrontation between them would be very interesting now that Nina knows everything.
